Youth Training Programme - Slalom
At waterskiscotland we aim to provide the best training environment for our up and coming stars. 2007 was an important year for waterskiing in Scotland not only did we have the current World Slalom Champion in the open category (that means all ages group) but Nicole Arthur form Slamannan WSC went on to build on that success by winning the U21 World Championships in Chile in January 2008.
To keep Scottish skiers at the top and on the world's podium we have to start them early so in April 2007 we launched our Youth Training Programme - Slalom, this programme is open to all slalom skiers preferably under 18 and who are members of an affliliated club in Scotland and are showing promise. If you are one of these skiers or if you know of such a skier please contact waterskiscotland and quote this article and the Youth Training Programme - Slalom.
This intensive training programme is tailored to the individuals requirements and at present is subsidised to the skiers on the programme. We are please to announce that FERGUSSON COAL are sponsoring this programme for a three year period and that sportscotland through the lottery sportsmatching scheme sponsored £1000 worth of equipment for the launch.
We are confident that we can maintain Nicole's sucess by keeping Scotland at the forefront of slalom skiing in the World all we need is -- willing Skiers !!!!
