NTS Redevelopment Officially Opened

Tuesday 23rd August 2016 saw the official opening of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland’s £180,000 refurbishment of the National Training Site (NTS) at Town Loch, Townhill in Dunfermline. Developed in partnership with sportscotland through the Legacy 2014 Active Places Fund, the site – located just a 5-minute drive from central Dunfermline – has been transformed beyond recognition. The development offers users greatly improved accessibility, alongside private changing areas and fantastic viewing facilities.

The centre was officially opened by Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Public Health and Sport. Attendees were then treated to a display of water-skiing and wakeboarding, and huge thanks must go to Georgina Hutchison, Marisa Alongi, Matt Mills, Jo Waz, Carter Taylor and Graham Boardman for providing the entertainment.

Alan Murray, Cheif Operating Officer of Waterski and Wakeboard Scotland, thanked everyone who was involved with the project and in particular the volunteer 'project team' he also spoke of his pride at the completion of the project and the vital role that sportsscotland has played in it's realisation.

"None of this would have been possible without the continuing and committed support from sportscotland. We are very grateful for this partnership and at times being a smaller sport, a bit humbled by the experience"

The NTS now offers facilities that are unrivalled throughout Scotland and ranks amongst the best in the UK, fully accessible for skiers / riders of all abilities, from beginners through to competition level. If you are new to the sport, our ‘Cutting Edge’ programme offers the perfect introduction to both this fantastic new facility and the sport as a whole.
