Loch Stock Final Stop 22/23 August

Loch Stock Press release – Tour Stop 3 August 22nd and 23rd saw the final stop on the Loch Stock tour take place at the Scottish National waterski/wakeboarding training Centre in Dunfermline. The homecoming saw the biggest turnout to date, and a marked step up in the standard of riding since the start of the tour. As usual there was expert coaching on hand, this time in the form of UK legend Chris Woodhead. Sunday saw the riders battle it out as they were given their last chance to earn themselves the top spot. Kurt Graham and Sammi Filsell bagged themselves 1st place on the day, and walked away as men’s and ladie’s overall winners. Loch Stock has made a name for itself as far more than just a competition, and the overwhelming response the tour has got from all over the UK goes to show that.  Over 60 riders competed in the tour, making Loch Stock Scotland’s largest wakeboard event, but the numbers that speak the loudest are the miles that people travelled to show their support for the Scottish scene. From Lake Windemere to London, and even South Africa; every person there made Loch Stock 2009 what it was. Of course none of it would have been possible without the sponsors, who went out of their way to ensure the tour’s first year was a success. Thanks go out to Mastercraft Boats, Relentless Energy, Phitt Clothing, Liquid Force, Xtreme Gene, Loch Lomond Wakeboard, Alliance magazine, Mayles watersports, waterskiscotland and Transgression Skatepark for putting their names behind the Scottish wake scene and waterskiscotland for hosting the event, providing first aid cover and sponsoring Scottish perpetual trophies. Planning is already underway for next year’s tour, which promises to be bigger and louder than this year.
