On behalf of all waterskiers in Scotland and in particular the members of waterskiscotland I know you will all join me in recording our deepest sympathy to the Arthur Family on the recent and unexpected departure of Dr Ian Arthur.
As you are fully aware ‘The Doc’ was a leading light in the Scottish waterskiing scene with great foresight to see into the future of our sport, from the early 1950’s forming the first Scottish Waterski Club at the Black Loch, Slamannan and together with his wife Marianne running events which are still fondly remembered by the old guard at the Scottish Water Ski Association and British Water Ski Federation. The immense support given to his son John, a many times Scottish Champion and GB team member , driving in all weathers and conditions surely made him the formidable skier that he became.
This passion and commitment was obviously passed onto John who with Dr Ian's input then guaranteed the success of the Arthur dynasty through Nicole’s outstanding performances.
A great leader with strong beliefs and immeasurable family commitment.
He will be sadly missed………….
